YEREVAN. – The committee prescribing a methadone treatment approved
the appeal of the Nubarashen penitentiary prisoner Arthur Smbatyan,
who had earlier sewed own mouth and nailed own feet and involved the
prisoner in the state financed project, Armenian Ministry of Justice
informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To note, recently media outlets have published the appeal of the
prisoner, whose mother Roza Sardaryan in her letter on Tuesday was
claiming that the penitentiary authorities reject to involve her son
in that project citing different reasons.

Persons involved in the Methadone Substitution Treatment (MST) are
obliged not to take drugs without doctors’ prescription during the
whole period of the treatment, ministerial website informs.
