MCC SPECIALISTS ASSESS THE JOINT WORK WITH ARMENIA AS EFFECTIVE
In Washington RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian had a meeting with
the Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation
John Danilovich. Issues related to the full resumption of the programs
implemented in Armenia by the Corporation were discussed. The parties
stressed the economic and political importance of the programs in
the context of Armenian-American relations.
Ambassador Danilovich said specialists of the Corporation assess the
joint work implemented in Armenia as effective and expressed hope that
in September of the current year the Executive Board of the Millennium
Challenge Corporation will have an opportunity to reconfirm Armenia’s
correspondence to the Corporation’s standards.
Minister Nalbandian noted that during its last sitting the Armenian
Government took the decision to allocate about $17 million for the
purpose of accomplishing the responsibility assumed by the Millennium
Challenge Account-Armenia organization to build inter-village roads,
which is another evidence of resoluteness of the Armenian authorities
to contribute to the continuation of the program in Armenia.
