ArmInfo. Overwhelming majority of the Armenian regions’ residents
intend to vote for RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan at the forthcoming
presidential election, Head of the "Sociometer" Center, sociologist

During today’s press-conference in "Hayatsk" club, A. Adibekyan said
that the employees of his Center carried out an express-gallup poll
in all the regions of the republic last week-end over 48 hours. Total
of 2 240 respondents were questioned: 20% of them said that they are
not interested in the forthcoming election, 5% said that they do not
intend to participate in voting. The votes of 75% of the gallup poll,
having an intention to go to the polls, divided in the following way:
67% intend to vote for Serzh Sargsyan, 9% – for the "Orinats Yerkir"
party leader Artur Baghdasaryan, 6% – for the first President Levon

the gallup poll was carried out by order of S. Sargsyan’s campaign
headquarters and one of the candidates more (the sociologist refused
to call his name).

A. Adibekyan said that participants in the gallup poll were also
questioned whether they know the presidential contenders. According
to the results, 97% of respondents know about Serzh Sargsyan running
for president, 80% about L. Ter-Petrosyan, 44,2% – about V. Manukyan,
40,7% – about V. Hovhannisyan, 55% – about A. Geghamyan, 56% –

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
