INTER RAO UES TO INVEST $17MLN IN “ELECTRICITY NETWORK OF ARMENIA” IN 2006

YEREVAN, March 29. /ARKA/. INTER RAO UES intends to invest a total of
$17mln in “Electricity Networks of Armenia” in 2006, Director General
of INTER RAO UES Yevgeny Dod told reporters in Moscow. “The funds
will be allocated besides the $35mln Japanese credit for Armenia’s
power grid,” he said.

According to Dod, the Russian funds will be directed to the purchase of
wires, electric meters, control systems and replacement of equipment.

Speaking of the company’s investment plans in Armenia, Dod reported
that $17mln are also expected to be invested in Yerevan Hydro
and Argel Hydro, which form part of the Sevan-Hrazdan coordinated
hydro-power system.

INTER RAO UES holds 100% of the “Electricity Networks of Armenia”
CJSC, Sevan-Hrazdan coordinated hydro-power system, as well as is
the financial managers of the Armenian nuclear-power plant.
