ARMENIAN PRESIDENT RECEIVES HEAD OF PACE

YEREVAN, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS: Armenian President Robert Kocharian
received today head of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly
(PACE) Rene van der Linden and the delegation headed by him.
The presidential press service informed that the sides discussed the
implementation of commitments assumed by the Council of Europe and
particularly the pace of the constitutional reforms. The Armenian
president emphasized that the constitutional reforms are implemented
with the assurance that first of all it is important for us.
Noting that the implemented reforms must correspond to the
European standards, the president highly assessed the support of
the Venice commission. R. Kocharian said that the coming referendum
of constitutional reforms has great importance for Armenia and the
authorities will be consistent for reaching success.
