Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has arrived in Armenia to participate in the 8th European Political Community (EPC) Summit. Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan welcomed him at Zvartnots Airport.

The 8th Summit of the European Political Community will take place on May 4, 2026, under the motto “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe.”

The summit will bring together European leaders and heads of international organizations at a pivotal moment in shaping and strengthening Europe’s collective path. It will serve as an inclusive forum for open dialogue, strategic coordination, and shared reflection on Europe’s priorities, fostering collaboration, mutual understanding, and tangible initiatives to support a more resilient and forward-looking continent.

The summit will be co-chaired by Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, and António Costa, President of the European Council. Nearly fifty heads of state and government have been invited to take part in the summit.

Top EU leaders arrived in Yerevan ahead of the 8th European Political Community (EPC) Summit and the first-ever Armenia–EU summit that will follow.

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, President of the European Council António Costa, and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola arrived at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport on Sunday, where they were welcomed by Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan and Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.

Armenia and Kosovo discuss prospects for cooperation

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who arrived in Armenia to participate in the European Political Community Summit.

Pashinyan welcomed PM Kurti’s visit to Armenia and recalled that they had met and held discussions several times before, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of continuity in dialogue and steps aimed at further developing bilateral relations. In particular, he highlighted programs aimed at deepening ties in the tourism sector.

The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality, emphasizing that he was impressed by Yerevan and its history, culture, and traditions. In this regard, PM Albin Kurti shared his impressions of his visit to the Sergei Parajanov Museum.

During the meeting, the prime ministers exchanged views on the European Political Community Summit, as well as the prospects for Armenia–Kosovo cooperation.

French President Emmanuel Macron arrives in Armenia for state visit, EPC Summi

French President Emmanuel Macron has arrived in Armenia on a state visit and to participate in the 8th European Political Community Summit.

Macron was welcomed at Zvartnots Airport by President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.

The 8th Summit of the European Political Community will take place on May 4, 2026, under the motto “Building the Future: Unity and Stability in Europe.”

The French leader’s state visit will begin the following day.

A meeting will be held between Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the French President, followed by an expanded meeting of the two countries’ delegations. After the document-signing ceremony, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Emmanuel Macron will make statements to the media.

President Macron will pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial and will also visit the Matenadaran, the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts.
President Khachaturyan will also host Macron for a meeting.

As part of the state visit, the French President, accompanied by the Prime Minister of Armenia, will visit Gyumri, where he will pay tribute to the victims of the 1988 earthquake.

Pashinyan and Macron will then attend the concert titled “Musical Bridge: Armenia–France” in Gyumri.

Armenian, Canadian foreign ministers hold talks in Yerevan

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, who is currently in Armenia as part of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s delegation for the European Political Community Summit.

The Foreign Ministry posted a video from the meeting and said that the two ministers discussed opportunities for cooperation in various areas.

“Productive discussion on advancing Armenia–Canada partnership: Ararat Mirzoyan and Anita Anand discussed cooperation opportunities across a number of areas,” the Foreign Ministry said on social media.

Earlier on Sunday, after arriving in Yerevan, FM Anand visited the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial.
