ARMENIA AND UKRAINE TO COOPERATE IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

YEREVAN. – Armenia and Ukraine have reached an agreement on science
and technology cooperation between 2013 and 2017.

The respective Armenian-Ukrainian committee convened a session in
Armenia’s capital city Yerevan. The parties exchanged data on the
scientific technology and the innovation sectors of the two countries.

In addition, the State Agency on Science, Innovations and
Informatization of Ukraine, and the State Committee of Science of
Armenia signed a 2013-2017 science and technology cooperation program.

ARMENIA BUDGET MONEY LOOTING IS $700 MILLION – OPPOSITION MP

YEREVAN. – The looting of the budget money of Armenia is $700 million.

Levon Zurabyan-opposition Armenian National Congress Party
Vice-Chairman and Armenian National Congress bloc National Assembly
(NA) Faction leader-stated the aforesaid at Monday’s NA discussions
devoted to the 2014 State Budget.

In his words, the largest looting of the money is carried out before
the money actually enters the budget.

“The [country’s] economy is concentrated in the hands of a few
families. They make use of numerous unlawful privileges and do not pay
the taxes that they are required to pay to the budget,” Zurabyan said.

According to the analyses by international organizations, the
tax-GDP ratio should be 21 percent for a country like Armenia and,
in this case, the GDP-budget volume would amount to $3.6 billion,
Zurabyan argued.

In response, Minister of Economy Vahram Avanesyan noted that Armenia’s
state revenue ratio to that of the GDP is over 23 percent which,
as per the minister, is a reasonable indicator.

“[But] we can record some problems that need solving,” Avanesyan added.

ARMENIA’S “WINGS OF TATEV” JOINS INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR TRANSPORTATION BY ROPE

The “TaTever” (“Wings of Tatev”) aerial tramway of Armenia joined
the International Organization for Transportation by Rope (OITAF).

The respective decision was made at the session of the OITAF managing
board, in Bolzano, Italy.

OITAF membership indicates the recognition of “TaTever” by the
international community of operators of ropeways.

The membership also gives benefits such as support to researches
and experiments in the sphere of ropeways management; assistance to
establishing standards for national regulators in the ropeway sphere;
and holding of seminars and conferences for producers and operators
of ropeways.

The International Organization for Transportation by Rope was set up
in Milan, Italy, in 1959; ropeways from 22 countries are currently
represented in this organization.

TURKISH SINGER: ARMENIANS ARE MY FRIENDS

Renowned Turkish singer Sezen Aksu remembered her great love, Turkish
Armenian musician Onno Tunc, during her solo concert on Sunday,
Mansettv reported.

“As you know, I have been Onno’s fiancee for 10 years. So, of course
all Armenians are my friends,” she said.

Onno Tunc, a leading Turkish-Armenian musician, working mainly as a
composer and an arranger, died in a plane crash in 1996, at the age
of 48. He was survived by two daughters Selin and Ayda from his first
wife, Canan Ates.

IRAN BARTERED 1.5 BILLION CUBIC METERS OF GAS FOR ARMENIAN ELECTRICITY IN 2007-2012

There are all necessary preconditions for the development of
Armenian-Iranian relations in the field of energy, Iranian Energy
Minister Hamid Chitchian has said during his meeting with Armenian
Deputy Energy Minister Ara Simonyan on the sidelines of the 44th
session of the CIS Electric Power Council in Moscow, according to
ISNA news agency.

Referring to Armenian-Iranian relations in the energy sector, the
Iranian Minister said, “We are convinced that currently, the existing
cooperation between Iran and Armenia may be expanded in the sectors
of oil, gas and electricity.”

Armenia’s Deputy Energy Minister said for his part that Armenia
attaches much importance to the development of its ties with Iran.

The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said recently that around
1.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas has been traded with Armenian
electricity in 2007-2012, the Iranian news agency said.

RUSSIA WILL SUBSIDIZE GAS PRICE, SAYS ARMENIAN ENERGY MINISTER

The 2014 draft budget does not envisage the subsidization of the
price of natural gas supplied to Armenia, Armenian Energy Minister
Armen Movsisyan said during the discussion of the 2014 draft budget
at the National Assembly.

“The Russian government will subsidize the gas price,” he added.

According to the Minister, currently, gas price negotiations between
Armenia and Russia proceed in the context of Armenia’s entry into
the Customs Union.

“An agreement will be signed by the end of the year,” the Minister
said.

Bahceli, président du parti nationaliste turc MHP. Comme cela est
trop souvent le cas en Turquie, Devlet Bahceli attaque les origines
supposées arméniennes, grecques, juives ou kurdes de nombreux
députés, mais également du premier ministre Erdogan. Le Collectif

Cela est devenu la mode de faire référence aux origines de
ses concurrents sur la scène politique. Dans cette optique, les
députés et les auteurs de différents milieux ont accusé Erdogan,
Kılıcdaroglu, Gul et de nombreux politiciens, et ils ont écrit
des ouvrages sur eux.

Mais, c’est la première fois qu’on rencontre un racisme aussi grave
sur ce sujet dans le discours de Bahceli, le président du MHP,
lors de la dernière réunion du parti.

Il a ainsi déclaré:

” Le Premier ministre et certaines personnes autour de lui sont
en train de renommer Guroymak en tant que NorÅ~_in, Aydınlar en
tant que Tillo, Tunceli en tant que Dersim [Nota CVAN : retour vers
le nom d’origine de certaines villes de Turquie dont l’appellation
avait été turquifiée]. Changeraient-ils leur prénom pour revenir
a leurs origines ?

Le porte-parole de l’AKP affirme a chaque occasion qu’il a appris le
turc a l’âge de sept ans mais qu’il est devenu professeur agrégé
en langue et littérature turques, ce qui lui a permis d’obtenir son
statut actuel. Qu’attend-il pour changer son prénom ?

Cette personne qui appuie sur la gâchette a propos de l’ethnie
au lieu de remercier la nation turque et qui n’a visiblement rien
compris a Ali Suavi, ne voudrait-elle pas avoir le prénom Hado,
Hazo ou bien Hander par exemple ?

A part cela, dans l’agenda du Premier ministre Erdogan, y a-t-il le
changement de nom de son propre comté de Guneysu en Potamya ?

Si cela se fait, nos appartenances et nos origines qui seront écrites
sur nos cartes d’identité seront précises et connues, Dieu merci.

Vous, les peureux qui vous retrouvez dans le noir et qui critiquez
la lumière, les idiots qui vous trouvez compétents pour contester
tout en ayant virtuellement peur, comment allez-vous vous définir,
comment allez-vous vous présenter ?

Sous quelle identité, le premier ministre s’enregistrerait-il sur les
nouvelles cartes d’identité ? Comment exprimera-t-il son identité
et son origine ? ”

Traduisons ce discours [de Devlet Bahceli, Président du MHP] :
Ce pays est aux Turcs.

Après avoir conquis ces terres, les Turcs ont été prêts a effacer
et a détruire toutes les traces du passé.

Le fait – pour les peuples qui vivent sur ces terres – de donner a
leur enfant un prénom de leur propre culture et de nommer dans leur
propre langue les endroits où ils vivent, est carrément considéré
comme du séparatisme.

Il est normal de traiter de Kurde, Arménien, Juif, tous ceux qui se
situent en-dehors de la politique traditionnelle de l’Etat, pour leur
rappeler qu’ils sont potentiellement des traîtres.

Car dans ce pays, tous ceux qui veulent faire vivre leur propre
culture en désobéissant a l’identité turque sont des cibles.

Vous pouvez devenir président mais si votre mère est une Arménienne
islamisée, vous devriez être prudent.

Vous pouvez devenir ministre mais votre prénom ne peut pas être Hado,
Hazo ou Hander.

Vous pouvez devenir le président du CHP mais si vous êtes Alévi du
Dersim et si le prénom de votre mère est YemuÅ~_, on ne se sentira
pas a l’aise.

Je ne vais pas vous expliquer la perversité de cette mentalité.

Je ne vais que poser certaines questions avec mon intelligence moyenne.

Si la mère d’Abdullah Gul est vraiment une Arménienne islamisée,
que passera-t-il ?

Le président devrait-il démissionner ?

La mère de Gul est-elle devenue musulmane en le déclarant ? [Nota
CVAN : pour adopter la foi musulmane, il suffit de déclarer : ” Il
n’y a de Dieu qu’Allah et Mohamet est son Prophète ”. C’est ce que
l’on nomme la chahada : cette profession de foi de l’islam constitue
le premier des cinq piliers de la religion. Elle n’est pas supposée
être faite sous la contrainte. Or les crypto-Arméniens ont été
islamisés de force].

Combien de personnes sont-elles dans la même situation en Turquie ?

Si ceci est vrai, cette mère, islamisée de force, dont tous les
proches ont été tués, n’a-t-elle pas vécu le type de vie pour
lequel on devrait s’excuser a genoux?

Si mère YemuÅ~_ est Arménienne, combien de mères alévis
vivent-elles au Dersim en camouflant leur identité ?

Où se trouvent les pères et les oncles ? Pourquoi ce sont toujours
les mères et les grands-mères qui sont Arméniennes ? [Nota CVAN
: durant le génocide de 1915, ce sont le plus souvent les très
jeunes filles qui ont été prélevées dans les rangs des déportés
arméniens, pour être mariées de force a leur ” sauveur ” turc
ou kurde].

Dans ce pays où l’on accuse les personnes qui ont probablement des
origines arméniennes ou grecques, que doivent ressentir ceux qui
vivent en tant qu’Arménien, Grec ou Juif, sous leur propre identité
sans être suspecté ?

Ai-je la possibilité de devenir ministre ?

Les questions sont nombreuses mais je n’ai plus de place.

Puisque c’est le cas, je vais les maudire aussi [maudire les
nationalistes].

Je me souviens très bien qu’a l’époque, Bahceli a été accusé
d’être Arménien.

En ce moment, mon unique souhait est que cela soit vrai.

Au moins, notre colère se transformera un peu en amusement.

Nous serons soulagés.

Le Premier ministre armenien Tigran Sarkissian dans un post sur sa
page Facebook, a exhorte tous les Armeniens a s’abstenir d’utiliser
des lettres latines et d’utiliser seulement l’alphabet armenien.

” Je me rends compte que beaucoup de nos compatriotes, en particulier
ceux de l’etranger, ne peuvent pas ecrire en alphabet armenien,
parce qu’ils n’ont pas les codes. Cependant, je vous exhorte tous a
ecrire seulement en lettres armeniennes chaque fois que c’est possible
” ecrit-il.

New basic school opens in an Artsakh village

On 2 November Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan partook in a
solemn ceremony of opening the newly built basic school in the village
of Hovsepavan in the Askeran region, Central Information Department of
the Office of the NKR President reported.

President Sahakyan said it’s necessary to establish educational
institutions corresponding to modern standards in rural areas
underlining its importance both for the development of education and
science and improving demographic situation in villages.

FOOD PRICES RISE 0.3 PERCENT IN ARMENIA IN OCTOBER

YEREVAN, November 1. /ARKA/. Prices for foods in Armenia rose 0.3% in
October 2013, compared with the previous month, mainly due to 0.5-4%
increase in prices for meat and dairy products, confectionery, fishes,
vegetables and potatoes, the National Statistical Service reports.

At vegetables and potatoes market, a year-on-year growth was recorded
at 7.2% in October 2013, and compared with September 2013, they leapt
4% mostly due to increase in prices for beans (6.6%), greenery (11.2%),
eggplants (26.7%), green pepper 33.4%, cucumbers (44%) and tomatoes
(46.1%).

In nine cities, prices for vegetables and potatoes rose 0.9-9.3%,
on average, and in Yerevan a 4.5-percent month-on-month increase was
recorded in October 2013.

Prices at Armenia’s fruit market climbed 9.5% in October 2013, compared
with the same month a year earlier, but slipped 4.1%, compared with
September 2013 thanks to decrease in prices for persimmons (48.8%),
pears 16.6%, pomegranates (11.2%), walnuts (10.2%), grapes (7.8%)
and lemons (4.2%).

Apples were 1.6% cheaper in October 2013 than in September 2013,
and melons were 3.3% cheaper.

Instead, prices for bananas jumped 3.9%, for watermelons 10.1%,
oranges 18.6%, strawberry 26.3%, plums 38.9% and peaches 42.8%.

The average sugar price fell 15.8% in October 2013, compared with
the same month a year before, and slid 1.3%, compared with the
previous month.

Prices for meat products rose 4.4%, compared with October 2012, and
0.5%, compared with September 2013, mainly because of increase in
prices for semi-smoked sausage (0.7%), canned meat (0.7%), chicken and
cooked sausage (1%), smoked sausage (1.2%), sausages (2%), basturma
(dried meat) and chicken legs (2.7%). Mutton, pork and beef prices
dropped 3.1%, 0.6% and 0.2% respectively.

Prices for dairy products rose 11.9% in October 2013, compared with
the same month a year before, and 0.5%, compared with September 2013.

Fishes and fish products in October 2013 became 6.3% more expensive
than they were in October 2012 and 1.5% more expensive than in
September 2013.

Egg prices has climbed 33.5% since October 2012, but slid 1.2%,
compared with September 2013. -0—-
