Tank holding sulfuric acid explodes in Armenia
YEREVAN, Armenia
A tank holding sulfuric acid exploded Wednesday in an Armenian power
station, killing one worker and injuring seven others, emergency
officials said.
The explosion happened at the Razdanskaya power plant, one of the
biggest in this ex-Soviet republic, said Nikolai Grigorian, chief
spokesman for the Armenian Emergency Situations Ministry.
He said that seven workers were hospitalized with burns.
An investigation into the cause of the explosion is underway.
