President of Greece Konstantinos Tasoulas, who arrived in Armenia to participate in the 8th European Political Community (EPC) Summit, visited the Tsitsernakaberd memorial to pay tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims.
The Ambassador of Greece to Armenia, Christos Sofianopoulos, accompanied the President during the visit, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute said in a press release.
Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Acting Director Hrachya Tashchyan presented the history of the establishment of the memorial complex, its meaning and significance, and also referred to the memorial column, noting that it symbolizes the rebirth of the Armenian people.
President Tasoulas placed a wreath at the memorial in honor of the Armenian Genocide victims. The members of the delegation then laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and observed a moment of silence.
