YEREVAN. – The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, is
illustrated as an independent state–with a separate flag and
currency–in the Turkish Fuarsepeti website, which organizes
exhibitions and is indulged in tourism.

With respect to NKR, which is separately represented in the website’s
“Countries” section, it is noted that its official language is
Armenian, the population is 138 thousand, its total area is 4,400
square meters, and the national currency is the Armenian dram.

NKR’s description notes that it is also called the Republic of
Artsakh, which de jure “belongs” to Azerbaijan, but it is a de facto
independent state.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
