ARMENIAN INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT EXPECTED TO SEE 7 PERCENT RISE IN 2014 -MINISTER

YEREVAN, March 27. / ARKA /. Despite a downturn in the first two
months of the year, Armenia’s overall industrial output is expected
to grow by 7% in 2014, economy minister Vahram Avanesyan said at a
press conference today after a Cabinet session.

He said the government expects a significant growth in mining and
food productions by the yearend.

According to him, production of food is expected to see a more than 5%
growth, while the overall industrial output will grow by more than 7 %.

The minister said the fall recorded in the first two months in mining
and food industries was not unexpected being seasonal.

“In this sense, the decline was expected, and I can say that in March
we expect poor numbers,” he said.

According to the National Statistical Service, the industrial
production in 2013 amounted to 1.240.5 trillion drams, having increased
by 6.8% from the previous year. -0 –
