Expatriated Government of Western Armenia applies to G 20 countries on
Syria issue

15:54, 7 September, 2013

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. The Expatriated Government of the
Western Armenia applied to the countries participating in G 20
conference asking them to draw their attention on the Armenian
community of Syria. As reports ‘Armenpress”, the National Council of
the Western Armenia and the Expatriated Government of Western Armenia
expressed their anxiety regarding the humanitarian crisis in Syria and
urged the countries participating in G 20 conference to support the
peaceful population of Syria. Among other things it was noted: “The
humanitarian crisis in Syria enters into a new drastic stage, where it
becomes evident that the sides did not and do not take into
consideration the security and minimum rights for physical existence
of the Syrian people and minorities living in Syria, as well as their
natural right to havefuture and develop.

We want to remind you once again that the native Armenian people of
Cilicia and the Western region have already faced genocide and forced
migration in the beginning of the 20th century, as a Christian people
of the region. The Syrian people and the minorities living in Syria,
including the Syrian-Armenians, are again in imminent danger of
genocide and forced migration.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
