AUTHORITIES IN TURKISH PROVINCE RESTORING ARMENIAN CEMETERY
NEWS | 18.12.12 | 14:18
Authorities in Turkey’s province of Malatya have carried out
reconstruction work at an Armenian cemetery where two buildings were
demolished earlier this year angering the local Armenians.
A guardhouse and a chapel are being rebuilt and will soon be handed
to the Armenian community of Malatya, reported Turkish media, quoting
official sources. The buildings had been ruined when workers targeted
the wrong structures while doing work on the site.
Once the restored buildings are provided with electricity, water
and natural gas and the area is improved, they will be provided to
the HAYDER organization, which represents the Armenian community of
Malatya, the reports say.
