CIS LEADERS SIGN 20 DOCUMENTS IN ASHGABAT

Leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) signed a
package of 20 documents as a result of their meeting in Ashgabat.
A declaration on further development of multilateral cooperation
has been adopted. The heads of states decided to declare 2013 the
“Year of Ecological Culture and Environmental Protection in the CIS.”
The participants also signed an agreement to set up an integrated
currency market for the CIS. They also decided to set up a council
of the financial intelligence chiefs of CIS states, Interfax agency
reported.
The leaders also reached an agreement on development of combined
air defense force. The decision to implement 2013 interstate program
“Cultural capitals of Commonwealth” in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Belarus
has been approved.
