BEIRUT. – While forming foreign policy stance, Armenia considers both
the pan-Arab and Lebanese interests, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan
said at a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart Michel
Suleiman in Beirut.

Armenia attaches importance to international cooperation with Lebanon,
he stressed.

Expressing gratitude for warm reception in Beirut, President Sargsyan
said the high level visits prove there are good relations between
the states “and aspirations to further develop relationship.”

“Earlier we had effective talks with President Suleiman and discussed
the possible inclusion of new fields in the Armenian-Lebanese
cooperation. We exchange views on the processes in the Middle East
and the South Caucasus. We confirmed that our relationship is based
on good faith, mutual respect and trust,” he emphasized.

Speaking about the 20 years of diplomatic relations between the states,
Serzh Sargsyan pointed out parliamentary, cultural, educational,
scientific communication, over three dozen documents signed by
the sides.

“We agreed to use every opportunity to promote bilateral economic
cooperation,” he added.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
