Director of Artashat-based cannery Artfood Vachagan Karapetyan
refutes reports on beating of employees by the company leadership.
“Mass Media reports do not correspond to reality. There was no
quarrel. Employees just got into a bit of an argument. No one has been
dismissed unlike mass media reports,” Karapetyan told ArmInfo.
Nevertheless, the local police office confirmed reports on the
quarrel. The sufferer is to undergo forensic examination. The head of
the production shop that beat up his employee was released on
condition not to leave.
According to Mass Media reports, on August 12 the head of the tomato
production shop at ArtFood Company Vardan Vardanyan beat up his
employee Aram who just dared to ask why he should carry heavy barrels
alone. Aram was dismissed. The cannery belongs to Hovik Abrahamuan,
Armenian National Assembly Chairman and Sergo Karapetyan, Minister of
Agriculture.
