The Undergraduate Students Association Council is the official student
government of UCLA’s undergraduate students. Council meetings are
Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Kerckhoff 417 and are open to all students.

Agenda

Contingency allocations were unanimously approved by a vote of
10-0-0.

The council approved advocating this week’s contingency allocations
at 65 percent of its intended funding. This is a 15 percent increase
from the 50 percent funding allocations council has given for the
majority of the year.

A resolution commemorating the Armenian genocide and condemning
its denial by the Turkish government was unanimously approved by a
vote of 10-0-0.

The council voted 9-0-0 to allocate $80 for signboard posters
to educate students about the proposed referendum in this year’s
undergraduate student government elections.

Officer reports

President Emily Resnick said the council should help publicize a
referendum on the student government election ballot that will ask
students to vote on a potential $3 quarterly fee increase to provide
funding for student programming.

Joelle Gamble, external vice president, said her office will meet
with representatives from the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Gamble said the UC Student Association’s last meeting will be held
this weekend.

Cultural Affairs Commissioner Kinnery Shah and David Bocarsly,
a general representative, were absent at the meeting.

Public Comments

Representatives from the Armenian Students’ Association said they
supported a resolution commemorating the Armenian genocide and read
testimonies from victims of the genocide.

The USAC election ballot was unanimously approved by a vote of 9-0-0.
