At their meeting, the Armenian and French Presidents, Serzh Sargsyan
and Nicolas Sarkozy, discussed Armenia’s further initiatives to
normalize Armenian-Turkish relations and the causes of the present
stalemate.
At their joint news conference following the meeting, the Armenian
leader thanked his French counterpart for recognition of the Armenian
Genocide by France, its clear stance on Armenian-Turkish relations,
prospects of Turkey’s membership in the European Union and France’s
assistance to Armenia for many years.
