THE ARMENIAN MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS RECEIVED ARGENTINA’S FIRST DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

On September 15, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian
received Alberto D’Alotto, Argentina’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign
Affairs, who arrived in Armenia for inter-departmental consultations.

Welcoming the guest, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian
mentioned that the relations of the two countries are based on firm
grounds, the high-level reciprocal visits are frequent and there is
a broad legal framework, effective cooperation in the international
organizations and active economic interactions.

Minister Edward Nalbandian added that the agreement on the abolition
of visa regime to be signed today would open new opportunities for
a comprehensive development of the cooperation.

Underlining that his country has warm and friendly attitude towards
Armenia and the Armenian people, Mr. Alberto D’Alotto said that
Argentina would continue the policy of deepening the relations with
Armenia.

During the talks, Mr. Edward Nalbandian and Mr. Alberto D’Alotto
discussed a wide range of political, economic and cultural issues of
mutual interest, MFA press service reported.

In the course of the meeting the sides stressed the importance of
the strengthening of the inter-parliamentary ties, as well as closer
cooperation in the frames of international organizations.

Mr. Edward Nalbandian presented the recent developments in the
settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, and touched upon Armenia’s
approaches on the regional issues.

After the meeting, the ceremony of signing of the documents took place
during which Mr. Edward Nalbandian and Mr. Alberto D’Alotto signed
“An Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia
and the Government of the Argentine Republic on Visa Requirement
Suppression in Ordinary Passports”, as well as the Rector of the
Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of the RA Mr. Vahe Gabrielyan and Mr.

Alberto D’Alotto signed “Agreement between the Diplomatic Academy
of the MFA of the RA and National Foreign Service Institute of the
Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship
on the interaction” and the RA Deputy Minister of Culture Mr. Artur
Poghosyan and Mr. Alberto D’Alotto signed “Project on the cultural
cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of
Argentina for 2011-2015.”
