Representatives of German company C.A.C., which won a tender on
management of Yerevan-based Nairit chemical plant, have not arrived
in Yerevan yet. They were expected to be in Armenia in late August
to discuss their investment programs with the Ministry of Energy and
Natural Resources.

C.A.C. was the only company to participate in the tender for the new
operator. The company is specialized in chemical industry.

“We still have no news from our partners, but we shall inform you
about our negotiations as soon as we start them,” spokesperson for the
Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Lusine Harutyunyan told A1+.

Nairit has stood idle for a year. The employees of the chemical plant
have held a series of protests, demanding payment of 4-month salary.

The plant administration has promised to pay the salary of one month
in the coming week.

The plant’s debt totals $120-130 million, according to the Ministry
of Energy and Natural Resources.
