"It is difficult to speak about the updated version of the Madrid
Principles as they have not been disclosed yet."
"If updated version of the Madrid document meets Azerbaijan’s
national interests, Azerbaijan will take them as a basis for talks,"
ruling New Azerbaijan Party official and member of parliament Mubariz
Gurbanli said.
He said if updated version does not meet Azerbaijan’s interests,
Azerbaijan will propose to develop new principles to take as a basis
for negotiations.
Gurbanli said Azerbaijan will never surrender its principal position.
"Azerbaijani president has stated on numerous occasions that the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be resolved within Azerbaijan’s
territorial integrity and sovereignty. This serves as a basis in all
options of conflict settlement," Gurbanli said.
