In 2009 investments into Armenian railway system will comprise RR 2,7 billion

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ `It’s time to put the Armenian railways in order,’
said RF vice prime minister Sergey Ivanov a press conference. Prior to
that, management of the South Caucasus Railways company submitted a
business plan aimed at development of the company, improving the
quality of service, renovation of vehicles, as well as anti-crisis
program and investment plan. Management of Russian Railway expressed
readiness to invest in the South Caucasus Railway RR 2,7 billion .
CJSC South Caucasus Railways is a subsidiary of OJSC Russian
Railways. According to concession, signed on February 13 last year
«Armenian Railways» were passed to concession management of South
Caucasus Railways for a 30 year period with permission to prolongate
the term for another 10 years. South Caucasus Railways pledged to make
investments into infrastructure.
