RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan received US Chargé d’Affaires Joseph
Pennington. At the beginning of the meeting reference was made to
the Prime Minister’s official visit to Washington. "From our point
of view your visit was rather productive, and I’m glad that you also
consider it as such," the US Chargé d’Affaires said.
Facing the forthcoming sitting of the Millennium Challenge Corporation
Council’s sitting in December, US Chargé d’Affaires Joseph Pennington
and RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan turned to the higher standards
posed before Armenia as a result of transition from a country with
"low income" to a country with "medium income," as well as the possible
difficulties on the way of accomplishing the new commitments.
Noting that judging from the current successful process of
implementation of the program one can suggest that no changes will
be made regarding Armenia, Mr. Penningto spoke about the possible
implementation of a second program.
The parties stressed the necessity of meeting the commitments, which
can become the guarantee of launching the second program.
