Two superpowers have not yet congratulated CP on the occasion of victory

“Zhoghovurd” daily writes:

“The Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia officially distributed the mandates of the National Assembly yesterday, which ended one of the most important stages of the electoral process. According to the official results, the “Prosperous Armenia” party did not overcome the threshold to enter the parliament, as a result of which around 60,000 votes cast in favor of the party were actually stolen.

Thus, the National Assembly of the 9th convocation is scheduled to convene its first session on August 2, and the parliament will begin work with a new political composition.

However, along with the political developments, the picture of the international reaction is also remarkable. According to the research of “Zhoghovurd” daily newspaper, according to official reports, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping did not send a public congratulatory message to Nikol Pashinyan on the occasion of his victory in the elections.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced after the elections that Moscow is waiting for the official final results, and only then will it be decided whether there will be congratulations or not. There are the official results, there is the decision of the Supreme Court, there is the final decision of the CEC, but the congratulation of the President of the Russian Federation is not.

Although such a circumstance cannot be interpreted as non-recognition of the elections, in any case, this is an important diplomatic gesture, especially considering the role of Russia and China in Armenia’s foreign policy agenda. Usually, congratulations of this level are considered not only as a ceremonial necessity, but also as a political impetus in the context of bilateral relations.
