RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, after voting in the parliamentary elections, expressed his belief in the sole victory of the ruling political force and sent a stern warning to those initiating attempts to seize power by force. According to him, any illegal action disputing the legal results of the elections will be punished to the full extent of the law.
After casting his vote in favor of “peaceful, sovereign and developing Armenia”, the head of the foreign policy department emphasized the importance of citizens’ elections, predicting a high rate of participation. Answering journalists’ questions about the formation of the future government, Mirzoyan practically denied the possibility of coalition government, expressing confidence that the “Civil Agreement” party will get enough votes to form the cabinet on its own.
The minister emphasized the possible post-election developments. He clarified that not accepting the results of free and fair elections is a direct challenge to the constitutional order of the country. Addressing the circles prone to extreme actions, Mirzoyan warned in a stern tone that those who encroach on statehood and sovereignty will be severely punished, ending up behind bars for many years.
