The Defense Ministry has denied claims made by a member of the Strong Armenia Alliance that an Armenian military post in the Jermuk area was recently surrendered to Azerbaijan, calling the report “disinformation.”

“A short while ago, in a video circulated by a member of the ‘Strong Armenia’ party, an as-yet unidentified person provided false information claiming that an Armenian military position in the Jermuk area was recently surrendered. We report that this is disinformation,” Armenian Defense Ministry spokesperson Aram Torosyan said on social media, urging law enforcement agencies to investigate the video and assess its content legally.

Alik Aleksanyan, a member of the Strong Armenia Alliance, posted a video on his Facebook page with the following caption: “People, a position is being secretly surrendered from you—listen to what this volunteer has to say.”

In the video, an unidentified person, who presents himself as a war veteran and participant in the 44-day war, claims that “last month I was in Jermuk, where we were told to remove the weapons from the position, leave it, and hand it over to Azerbaijan.”
