Leonidas “Lou” Raptakis is a state senator representing Rhode Island’s District 33 since 2013, with prior service in both the state House and Senate dating back to 1992. Nationally and internationally, Raptakis is a preeminent leader in Greek organizations, currently serving as President of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association, where he connects legislators of Hellenic descent across roughly 90 countries to advocate for issues concerning Greece and Cyprus.
