The Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court presided by Judge Anna Danibekyan allowed Armenia's former President Robert Kocharyan

to sign agreements on the seized property that may not result in their expropriation. The petition was submitted by Kocharyan's lawyers. One of the members of the ex-president defense team Hovhannes Khudoyan  informed that there is no risk for expropriation since the agreement may concern only the utility and property indemnity agreements.

To remind, the ex-president’s property was seized and bank accounts were frozen on 30 July 2018, four days after Kocharyan was formally charged with ‘overthrowing’ Armenia’s constitutional order.

Later, the Judge of the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court partially satisfied the lawyers' appeal, holding that the ex-president’s rights had been violated. The Court also partially lifted the attachment of the property belonging to Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan.

Pashinyan inherently unprepared to give up his post – Iveta Tonoyan

Lawmaker from "Prosperous Armenia" party Iveta Tonoyan commented on Tuesday the unwillingness of the ruling force to hold snap parliamentary elections. She reminded that the ruling "My Step" faction cited the lack of public demand and opposition position to leave the idea of holding early elections.

"This is nothing else than a manipulation and a failed attempt to mislead the public," Tonoyan stated at parliament, referring to the previous statement by the authorities about elections. To note, in December Pashinyan rejected calls to step down but instead offered consultations with political forces on holding snap elections sometime in 2021.

The opposition lawmaker reminded that "Prosperous Armenia" has never rejected early elections and admitted the possibility only if Pashinyan resigns and an interim government is formed to ensure their fair and transparent conduct.

"Let us be sincere to admit that Pashinyan is inherently unprepared to give up his post," Tonoyan stated, adding that it would be faired if authorities spoke about own failures and responsibility for the ongoing crisis.

"Thousands were killed, tens of thousand were injured, while authorities continue their agenda," stressed Tonoyan. She advised the representatives of the ruling force to visit the Yerablur military pantheon without body armor and  bodyguards to grasp the whole tragedy of the reality. In her words, the ruling force should also acknowledge that all revolutionary promises and declarations about "Artsakh is Armenia" were a lie.

YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: Zhoghovurd daily has learned new details from the [parliamentary majority] My Step faction’s meeting, which was also attended by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

That meeting took place in Aghveran (…).

It is noteworthy that the Council of Europe funded, on the initiative of one of the MPs (…), the two-day rest and gathering in Aghveran.

(…) many members of the ruling faction (…) discussed the need to establish an Ethics Committee in the NA [National Assembly].

According to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, when the next day, Sunday, the prime minister joined the MPs, he was asked most various questions (…).

It is interesting that when they voiced the need to deepen the Armenian-Russian relations, the prime minister opened brackets and said that in that case, issues may be raised and conditions may be set before them that they will not be able to fulfill. (…).

(…) those present [also] inquired how the homeland would be defended with a broken army.

And here, after these various questions, Nikol Pashinyan asked those present and inquired whether or not their government is now respected. And after that question, for example, MPs Hayk Sargsyan, Arusyak Julhakyan, Suren Grigoryan, and others stated that the authorities have no problem, and moreover, there is no demand for early parliamentary elections, and they may not go for it. From those present, only NA Deputy Speaker Alen Simonyan said that they need a restart, and early elections are a necessity.

According to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, the situation in the [NA] offices of the [My Step] faction MPs was very heated yesterday, and many people were saying “behind the scenes” that early elections are really necessary.

The court has allowed the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, to enter into some property deals that do not involve the alienation of this property.

The relevant statement was submitted to the court by Hovhannes Khudoyan, a lawyer of Kocharyan.

"As far as we understand, we are talking about the house where Kocharyan lives and the surrounding area. If it is about that, we do not object," said Prosecutor Petros Petrosyan.

The court found that it did not see any obstacles to allowing transactions related to Kocharyan's property if they did not involve its alienation, and therefore the court permitted any transaction that would not lead to the alienation of Robert Kocharyan's property that is under attachment.

Why were Armenia-made drones virtually not used in Karabakh war?

YEREVAN. – The lack of large-scale use of Armenian-made drones is due to the lack of mass production; Hakob Arshakyan, Minister High-Tech Industry of Armenia, told this to a press conference on Tuesday.

He added that funding projects have been accepted for the development and production of attack and reconnaissance drones, and some of them have already been completed. According to Arshakyan, Armenia needs to achieve production opportunities for both types of these drones.

"The [Armenian-made] reconnaissance UAVs, which are not inferior to competitors in their parameters, have been used in [the recent war in] Karabakh [Artsakh] and have performed well. The UAVs that were not tested but were ready were also used, "Arshakyan said.

And when asked why footage on the operation of the Armenian-made drones was virtually not made public—as the adversary was doing, the minister explained that since the matter was about intelligence apparatus, the information provided the latter is confidential and not subject to publication.
