Nikol Pashinyan: Restrictions on freedom of speech are minimized

Arminfo, Armenia

ArmInfo. We have amended the decision to declare a state of emergency and minimized restrictions on freedom of _expression_. This was announced on March 26 at a  government meeting by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

<These restrictions apply solely to healthcare topics. But I think  that the existing regime was very important in terms of maintaining a  certain balance in the information field>, the prime minister said.

He again called on citizens to trust only official information about  the coronavirus, and not to trust information that does not match the  information provided by the government.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
