As reported by Tuttomercato, Arsenal have turned their attentions
to Borussia Dortmund ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of the January
transfer window.
The Gunners made a number of big-money signings in the summer,
including Danny Welbeck from Manchester United and former Barcelona
superstar Alexis Sanchez.
However, many observers feel that a top defensive midfielder was a
requirement in the summer to mount a title challenge, now it appears
to be a necessity in January to seal just a top four spot.
Arsene Wenger’s search for that key player has reportedly taken him
to EURO 20 million-rated Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan,
Tuttomercato claims. However, the Armenian international is a
forward-thinking player, with his best position playing off a striker –
a role Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez already occupy in the team.
