On October 14 at Gafesjiyan Center for the Arts and on October 18 in
Artsakh a concert will be held dedicated to the 75th anniversary of
Tigran Mansuryan. Opera singer Araks Mansuryan announced it today,
at the meeting with journalists. She also noted that she brought her
best students from different countries to take part in the concert.

“I wanted to prepare such a present for my brother, which, I am sure,
he will like very much. I said my students that I want to take them
into Armenia with me in order to sing Armenian songs, they agreed
with great pleasure,”- said the singer.

Araks Mansuryan, who is a lecturer at Australian Musical Institute,
noted that she has had many concerts in different countries and
presented Armenian songs and music everywhere.

“This year I have performed in Japan, I sang Komitas and performed
the works of my brother. All were shocked by Armenian pure music. I
teach all my students the music by Komitas and Mansuryan. I have an
invitation to perform also in Australia.”

Greek student of the singer, Georgia Kokoris spoke about Armenia
with admiration, “I can say that I am in love with your country and
culture. It is wonderful. I have been in many places but I can say
that Armenia has a specific appeal,”- she said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
