Upcoming plans for digitalization of the urban development sector were discussed

The upcoming plans for digitalization of city-building processes were discussed in the urban planning committee. The chairman of the Information Systems Regulation Commission Nerses Yeritsyan, representatives of the Information Systems Agency of Armenia and “EKENG” CJSC, as well as experts of the “Armenian Cultural and Scientific Society” Foundation (ASOF), which brings together scientists from Armenia and the Diaspora, were invited to the meeting led by the chairman of the committee Yeghiazar Vardanyan.

Yeghiazar Vardanyan noted that the digitization of the urban planning sector has already started in several directions. “In the future, our priority will be to raise the bar of technical control of construction quality using digital solutions. For this purpose, with the support of the Information Systems Agency of Armenia, we have studied the international experience and are discussing the options to implement the digital systems successfully operating abroad in Armenia as well,” said the chairman of the committee, adding that the prototype system can first be used in state school building programs.

Issues related to cooperating with experts in the field of urban planning, preparing the professional community for the use of electronic systems were also discussed, highlighting the change in the working style of specialists in addition to the introduction of digital tools.

At the meeting, reference was made to the preparation of complex examination on the digital platform and the launch of the change in purpose of land plots. The work of introducing the system of rating and reporting of companies in the field of urban development was also discussed. In addition, the possibility of using artificial intelligence tools during the project examination phase was considered.
