Former Gyumri mayor Vardan Ghukasyan has opened a ‘municipality’
for himself, according to Haykakan Zhamanak. Currently, he works
on new urban development projects. The ‘institution’ is called New
Municipality.
“The organization supposedly operates on a voluntary basis. According
to our information, Ghukasyan’s former teammates come to work every
day at nine, conduct a brief meeting, have a break and work until the
end of the workday. The workers of the New Municipality reportedly
receive salaries amounting to AMD 50,000-60,000. It’s noteworthy that
Ghukasyan can’t stand workers being late for work,” the newspaper says.
