Karabakh Is Closer To European Standards Than Other Regional Countri

YEREVAN. – The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) is closer to European
standards than the other countries in the region, Regional Studies
Center Director, political analyst Richard Giragosian said during a
press conference on Wednesday.

In his words, the holding of high-level elections in NKR bespeak this.

“[And] No petrodollar can change the state of things,” he noted.

Commenting on official Baku’s discontentment over the opening of the
NKR capital city’s Stepanakert Airport, Giragosian considered such
conduct as simply ridiculous.

To note, the Stepanakert Airport is put into operation, but flights
are not conducted as of yet. And the prospect of resuming flights
to and from the airport has caused hysteria in Azerbaijan, which
regularly threatens to down-or forcibly land-the planes that will
fly to the NKR capital city.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
