PanARMENIAN.Net – The statement issued by Presidents of the OSCE Minsk
Group Co-Chair countries is important for some points, editor-in-chief
of Aztag Beirut-based daily said.

According to Shahan Kandaharian, the statement reiterates mediators’
support for OSCE Minsk Group format, which neutralizes Azerbaijani
attempts to transfer the conflict resolution to another platform.

“The statement also reaffirms balanced focus on three principles:
non-use of force, peoples’ right to self-determination and territorial
integrity. In this context, Obama’s commitment to the principles runs
counter to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s report, which
omitted the right of nations to self-determination. Clinton’s “new
approaches” were confirmed neither in the presidents’ statements,
nor during the meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign
ministers,” Mr. Kandaharian told PanARMENIAN.Net

“The statement reaffirms the standpoint, according to which both
countries bear responsibility for the war rhetoric and use of force,
with no party specified as trouble maker,” he said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
