President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received today Iran’s Energy
Minister Majid Namjoo, which conveyed President of Iran Mahmood
Anmadinejad’s invitation to Serzh Sargsyan to participate in the summit
of Non-Aligned Movement. As press-service of the president reported,
Sargsyan said that it is very much important for Armenia to develop
mutually beneficial cooperation with Iran in the sphere of energy.
The parties agreed that further deepening of cooperation in this
sphere will increase more the growing commodity circulation between
the countries. The minister said that construction of the third line
of high voltage power transmission line Iran-Armenia and of Megri
power plant will start soon.
They highly appreciated the activity of the Armenian-Iranian
Inter-governmental Commission, the regular session of which will be
held in Yerevan.
