YEREVAN.- Leader of Armenian Communists considers that foreign
observers monitoring the May 6 parliamentary elections were simply
pursuing interests of their states.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Ruben Tovmasyan said one of their
main goals was to split Armenia from Russia.

“It would be a tragedy if they succeed,” he emphasized adding that
the foreign observers are silent to demand concessionsin the future,
for instance on Karabakh, on normalization with Turkey or relations
with Russia.

The observers from CIS states and European agencies positively assessed
the May 6 parliamentary elections in Armenia.
