Stepan Demirthcyan Says Karabakh Must Be Part Of Negotiations

JUNE 28, 2011

The Karabakhi side must become part of the negotiation process, leader
of the Armenia’s People’s party Stepan Demirtchyan said at a news
conference today, adding that the format of the participation of the
Karabakhi party is welcomed by their party. The leader of the party
said in near future all the efforts of the Armenian diplomacy must
be directed toward making Nagorno Karabakh a full negotiating party.

Referring to the Kazan meeting Demirtchyan said that still two months
ago he was predicting that no changes would be registered at the
meeting of the presidents.

“It is often being spoken about the change of the negotiating format.

I do not think it will take place and I do not think Madrid principles
will be replaced with others”, Demirtchyan said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
