On August 8, 2026, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.
During the telephone conversation, the parties exchanged ideas on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Peace Summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025 with the support of US President Donald Trump, during which peace was established between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the text of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia was also initialed.
The parties especially noted the important role of President Donald Trump and the Government of the United States of America in advancing the peace process.
The parties noted the progress recorded in the regulation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia during the last one year.
During the conversation, the development of trade and economic ties between the two countries was emphasized as a tangible manifestation of the benefits of peace. In this context, the parties mentioned the export of Azerbaijani oil products to Armenia, as well as the transportation of transit cargo through the territory of Azerbaijan to Armenia and from Armenia to other destinations.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of the TRIPP route in accordance with the agreements reached in Washington.
The parties emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to advance the peace process and ensure lasting peace, stability, connectivity and economic cooperation in the region.
