OPPOSITION POLITICIAN SAYS RADICAL CHANGES NEEDED

In search for resolving the country’s problems, we have to break
the circle of the three presidents because all the current problems
are rooted in that triangle, Armen MP Martirosyan of the opposition
Heritage party said in an interview with Tert.am.
He added that all negative things in Armenia are caused by bad
governance, and we need to change it.
“But the government cannot be changed without amending the
constitution,” Martirosyan said. “The judiciary should become
independent; the current system does not ensure its independence.
Also, the constitution should give opposition forces more powers.”
Martirosyan said a new constitution should have a provision prohibiting
existence of monopolies in the markets of necessities, allowing for
government intervention to protect people’s economic interests.
