“If Artsakh used to be noted as an indirect side to the negotiations,
after the statement issued by the White House Artsakh is considered
a direct side to the negotiations. I consider that statement a very
positive and important signal which is consistent with the activities
co-chairing states have undertaken towards the peaceful resolution
of NK conflict,” National Assembly Vice President Samvel Nikoyan told
Panorama.am referring to the White House statement.
President Obama told the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan during phone
calls that “now is the time to resolve this conflict and to offer the
people of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Nagorno-Karabakh a better future
for themselves and for their children.”
“It’s obvious Karabakh side is being recognized as conflict side
and it’s underlined that conflict resolution is impossible without
Karabakh. This is unique expression for the implementation of the
self-determination right of peoples which is underlined in the three
principles.”
