PARLIAMENTARY HEARINGS TO BE HELD

At May 21 sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science,
Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, which presided over the Committee
Chairman Artak Davtyan, it was decided to organize parliamentary
hearings on May 26 at 12:00 by the proposal of RA NA Speaker Hovik
Abrahamyan made at NA plenary session. There they will debate the
legislative initiative of the government On Making Amendments and
Addenda to RA Law On Television and Radio, which was passed in the
first reading on May 20. The Committee debated issues connected with
the organization of parliamentary hearings, as well as a number of
additional issues. The parliamentary hearings will be held at RA
Government session hall.

The committee member Anahit Bakhshyan proposed to organize a debate
for studying the educational structure and educational programmes of
Yerevan Pedagogical University. As a result of debates, by the proposal
of the Committee Chairman Artak Davtyan it was decided to organize
an outgoing sitting on the spot at Yerevan Pedagogical University.

In that context the Committee member Heghine Bisharyan proposed to
touch upon various problems connected with the higher educational
institutions and schools of Armenia.
