Yesterday head of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun faction Vahan Hovhannisyan
proposed starting an impeachment process against Mevlut Cavusoglu,
President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Is
it possible to realize the proposal?

"We should not make a tragedy of this and think about unrealizable
things now. Cavusoglu’s term in office will expire until we make
proposal, and until it passes all stages," says Naira Zohrabyan,
member of the Armenian delegation to PACE.

Thus, the Rules of Procedure of the Parliamentary Assembly of the
Council of Europe does not provide for legal levers of recalling the
President. Naira Zohrabyan says other mechanisms exist for torpedoing
Cavusoglu’s initiatives. "If PACE President’s wish to reestablish
a subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh comes true, the shortest way to
fail the initiative is not to participate in its activity," she said.

In any case, we should not allow the subcommittee to be formed
under the presidency of Mevlut Cavusoglu. With a view of failing
the initiative, two factions of the National Assembly -Heritage and
Dashnaktsutyun – are preparing to send letters to all PACE delegates.

The Heritage has already handed a letter to Cavusoglu during the
latter’s visit to Armenia. The second letter is also ready, head of
the Heritage faction Stepan Safaryan informed "Radiolur."

Nara Zohrabyan, considers, however that "it’s just a letter, which
Mevlut Cavusoglu may read and put aside."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
