President Serzh Sargsyan today received Mevlut Cavusoglu, President of
the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Greeting the
guest, President Sargsyan voiced hope that the visit of the delegation
headed by PACE President would help to shape a better and more
objective view of Armenia and the challenges existing in the region.

"This visit will provide an opportunity to discuss issues on our
agenda, and I’m confident that it will contribute to the deepening of
cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Council of Europe,
particularly the cooperation between the Parliamentary Assembly of the
Council of Europe and the Armenian National Assembly," President
Sargsyan stated.

Mevlut Cavusoglu said that as newly elected PACE President he
prioritizes the deepening of relations between the Assembly and member
states, exclusion of the use of double standards towards member states
to ensure an objective and balanced attitude toward everyone.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
