Russian Defense Minister Anatoli Serdiukov and his Azerbaijani
counterpart Safar Abiyev discussed on May 11 the potential of military
and technical cooperation between the two countries, reports local
Azerbaijani news agency Trend.

With regional military and political issues on the agenda the two
ministers reportedly discussed also issues pertaining to the Nagorno
Karabakh conflict.

Abiyev said the efforts spent by the OSCE Minsk Group are useless and
that it is necessary that the OSCE MG be more active over the issue.

According to Sabiyev all efforts should be spent for the peaceful
settlement of the conflict, otherwise the situation in the region
may reach an undesirable level.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
