Armenia-Poland relations are stable and the tragedy with Polish
President Lech Kaczynski will not hinder them, RA Ambassador to Poland
Ashot Galoyan stated in the interview with Armenian Public Television.
"What happened is a tragedy, which will in some way affect the
country’s internal political situation, but need for significant
changes is unlikely," the Ambassador said. Polish Premier Donald
Tusk’s Civic Platform Party may become the main political force in
the country. He visited Armenia a month ago and signed an important
agreement on mutual cooperation. "We have all the prerequisites to
expect the intensification and thawing of Armenian-Polish relations,"
Galoyan said.
According to him, untimely died Lech Kaczynski was seriously concerned
over the Karabakh conflict settlement.
As reported previously, April 10, Tu-154 aircraft heading from Warsaw
to Smolensk with Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his spouse on
board crashed 300-400 meters away from air-strip of Severniy military
airport in Smolensk region, Russia. Onboard were Polish President Lech
Kaczynski, his spouse Maria Kaczynska, as well as many high ranking
officials. According to the recent data, there were 96 people aboard.
Body of President Lech Kaczynski returned home on April 11.
