"Good fences make good neighbors," Aratk Davtyan said, quoting American
poet Robert Forst.

The process of ratification of the Armenian-Turkish relations
cannot be considered failed, Republican MP Artak Davtyan told a press
conference today. According to him, the probability of ratification of
the protocols is higher than the opposite scenario. The MP considers
that Armenia is one step ahead of Turkey. Therefore, the international
community’s expectations from Turkey are greater.

"The international community and the power centers of the world
send clear messages to Turkey, making it clear that there can be no
democratic Turkey and no integration with the European Union without
establishment of normal relations," he said.

Artak Davtyan found it hard to predict how President Serzh Sargsyan’s
expected visit to he US in mid-April will affect the Karabakh
settlement or the process of Armenian-Turkish normalization.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
