ArmInfo. In January 2010 the money base of Armenia increased by 14,5%
as compared with January 2009 and amounted to 458.1 bln AMD ($1.2 bln)
by February 1, 2010. According to the preliminary data of the Central
Bank of Armenia (CBA) provide to ArmInfo by the National Statistical
Service of Armenia, over January 2010 this index declined by 10,5%.

In the structure of money base the cash money outside the CBA declined
by 11,7% in January 2010, and by 17,8% as compared with Jan 2009,
having totaled 283.2 bln AMD AMD. The share of legal AMD reserves in
the total volume money base made up 6,51% or 29.8 bln AMD, having
declined by 26,3% in January. The share of legal foreign exchange
reserves made up 31,3% of the total volume of money base, or 143.5
bln AMD (3.5% decline in January 2010, and almost two-fold growth
annual growth).

According to the source, the amount of external reserves (privatization
funds exclusive) declined in January 2010 by 3,7% to 504.1 bln AMD
(48,5% annual growth). By the amount of internal assets, a negative
index of 46.1 bln AMD was fixed in Jan 2010, which is almost 4 times
as high as the index in December. In the structure of internal assets,
the liabilities to the government fixed at the negative level of 174
bln AMD declined by 14,1% in January 2010, and grew by 68% as compared
with Jan 2009. The share of banks in the total volume of internal
assets made up 55.4 bln AMD, having declined by 16,4% in Jan 2010
and by 26,2% as compared with Jan 2009. in the structure of internal
assets, the volume of transactions with REPO agreements declined over
4 times in January, and almost 7 times as compared with January 2009.
