INTERNATIONAL VY EHRAD FUND TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO SCHOLARS FROM SOUTH CAUCASUS COUNTRIES IN 2010

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ International Vyšehrad Fund announced a new
educational program aimed to develop science in the countries of the
Vyšehrad Group, as well as in Southern Europe and South Caucasus
countries.

The program provides 400 scholarships to scholars and students from 16
countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia, Herzegovina,
Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Macedonia, Poland, Russia,
Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine.

Each member of the program will receive 2.3 thousand euros for one
semester in 2010, while a participating university -1,5 euros.

Countries of Vyšehrad Group are Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland,
Slovakia. Vyšehrad Group was formed in February 1991 to assist to
its member countries – Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia during
integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. After the
dissolution of Czechoslovakia Vyšehrad trio was completed with another
member. The original purpose of the Vyšehrad Four, set 15 years ago,
was achieved: all the countries joined the European Union and NATO.

More than 60 million people live in Vyšehrad countries.

International Vyšehrad Fund was founded in 2000 to support to cultural
cooperation, exchange of scientific achievements and experience,
strengthen cooperation in education and develop cross-border
cooperation. The fund next year will increase to 5 million euros.
