At the initiative of First Lady Rita Sargsyan, the best students of
graduating classes from all over Armenia were invited today to the
Presidential Palace. At the Presidential Palace they were greeted
also by President Sargsyan.

President Sargsyan said, "I declared months ago that I would personally
shake hands with and express public gratitude to all those young boys
and girls, who would show prominent knowledge in any area or would
become winners and laureates of the scientific Olympiads. I have
already received the winners and laureates of different Olympiads,
and this will become a good tradition."

Noting, that the students of graduating classes would be having a
difficult year – graduation exams, strive for medals, and the admission
exams, the President of Armenia said, "Let year 2010 become the first
year of major successes for you. Excellent results are victories too,
they are your victories. And to achieve these victories a person
should first of all conquer himself or herself, his or her doubts
and timidity. All victories start with "Yes, I can". I wish you total
confidence in your own abilities, because I trust your abilities. I
have pretty serious grounds for it."

The President of Armenia said that he greatly enjoyed their "Who, if
not I" essays and was very much impressed. "After reading your essays,
I came to the conclusion that you truly believe in yourselves and are
confident about your future," the President of Armenia stressed and
added, "the focal point of your writings is patriotism, confidence
in future and readiness to assume responsibility. In your essays I
saw pride, vigor, and ability to dream. It is very important."

Serzh Sargsyan presented the students with the immortal writings of
Grigor Narekatsi and wished that Narek would not only become their
best friend but also their guardian and shining beacon.

Congratulating the students with New Year and Christmas, the President
of Armenia wished that 2010 would become a year of achievement,
progress, and accomplishments.
